Écoutez L'Œuvre musicale par Pierre Schaeffer sur Deezer. L'Oeuvre Musicale is an essential item for anyone interested in the historical aspect of musique concrète.
Concertino diapason (3-5 to 3-6) composed in 1948, revised version from 1971.
Pierre Schaeffer s´est éloigné de l'univers musical dans les années 1980, après avoir critiqué l'avant-garde des années 1950 qui cherchait à rompre avec la tradition. The 25-minute "Suite pour 14 Instruments," an utterly strange assemblage of diverse musical genres into a concrete suite, is the most articulated work here. Yet, everyone interested in electro-acoustic music should listen to them, if only to understand where everything that followed the man's pioneer compositions came from. + a booklet of text and photos 114 pages in French and English.

I would like to piont out that it is not necessary to spend $ 245 for this since there is a brand new edition from 2011 around. The "creator" of musique concrète is well known by name, but his reputation supersedes the exposure of his actual works.
