The only thing I can think of is that I don't have a core province anywhere in the new world yet because it is still out of my range. About the Aztec thing, I didn't have any cores at all, a few days after I took it, a prompt to form a Colonial Nation popped up. Now your 6 colonies seem to be spread out between 2 'regions' those eastern colonies of yours are in the 'Brazil' region, and those western in 'Guyane' region (sorry not sure about the names of it but you get the point). It's all right though as I figured out how to form client states and so formed a number of them instead.
The New World and Oceania are divided into several ‘colonial regions’ for the purpose of forming colonial nation. Colonial Nation Not Forming I conquered a whole load of provinces in what is supposed to be Colonial America, but no colonial nation formed. Once the colony finishes, the entire region will form a new colonial nation. Maybe check that all five core provinces are in Colonial Peru?The provinces that are cores are Camana, Arequipa, Puno, Tiahunaco and Chuquiabo.There was another thread (maybe on Steam) about such a problem and I thought I saw something similar in my last game. Happens, especially with all the different map modes. You should submit a bug report.
Another thing that makes these nations different from the traditional formable nations in EU4 is that they can be formed using the random setup.
Colonial Nation not forming?
- Thank you for the responses, and sorry for a slow response on my behalf. I already have one in Canada but the one in the Eastern U.S isn't formed. So I colonized a couple of provinces in Peru, then I attacked one of the tribes there and took their provinces. I read in the EU4 Wiki that to form a colonial nations I need to have five provences colonised bordering each other for them to form into New Portugal for example. Because of the ton of overextension that I had after taking all those provinces, I was forced to release 9 of the provinces I conquered as a protectorate, which I'd be willing to break and recounqer, but I just want to know if this is happening to anyone else. Why? However, once one of my nearby colonies became self-sustaining, this triggered the entire area into forming Dutch Columbia. I have the problem aswell but the weird thing is I have all the provinces in colonial area and it still wont form into a CN, and I do have them all cored, any one got ideas? There are twelve colonial regions in the game, 11 in the Americas (7 in North America, 4 in South America) and 1 covering Australia and New Zealand.
