Overall, none of the angles is overplayed, so the result is a well equilibrated story of a very dangerous moment for what became a hugely succesful reign. Emily Blunt is superb in this chocolate box of a film, perfect to watch with a mug of cocoa on a cold winter evening. Well worth buying and watching, or watching if you can borrow it. I don't know about the people who stumbled across this humble review, but when I think of Queen Victoria, I think of someone old, austere overweight and uptight.
