Our 5 year old was skiing for the first time and she wasn't very fond of the group lessons (with younger kids at first) but we complemented with two private lessons so she could join a slightly older group and then she got into the swing of things.
The kids had their first ski lesson the following day, just outside the hotel which is truly ski in ski out. We recommend calling ahead to confirm details. Own or manage this property? The ski in-out is perfect. We went to the restaurant and despite several staff in the doorway, no one greeted us, told us what to do or where to sit. Having looked at the website photos, I thought that I would not like the style of this resort, but it was a very pleasant surprise perched so high on the slopes! Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, but that’s because we enjoyed skiing and being together. Slightly surreal feeling towards the end of the week with the advent of potential shut-down. All the team wishes you the best and hopes to see you during a new week very soon. Once we’d checked in (felt this was a rush and an inconvenience) we were left to fend for ourselves. Ski school was busy - especially 1st star - watching a snake of about 20 children.
Le Club Med La Plagne propose conciergerie. It was a long journey, I was tired and the hotel hadn’t been welcoming and I was having to manage 2 tired children on my own too.
We dashed to the ski hire to find that the easy arrival (and skis in locker) weren’t there. So because of the lack of organisation from club med, I missed ski school for myself and had to spend the week skiing by myself. So that took more time. Kids club was chaotic - different people told me different things and most of the first day was in queues or waiting. The response I got from reception was whether I’d turned the switch on... ummm... A man did come at about 10.15 and found the bulbs had gone (it wasn’t the idiot with the light switch after all!). I think much of my negativity comes from that first night and the lack of welcome which can be easily solved. With its red roofs and solid wood walls, the Club Med all-inclusive Resort of La Plagne 2100 backs onto a jutting-out ridge of the Tarentaise valley. It is such a pleasure to see how satisfied you are with your stay among us with the help of our team! But that should have been my choice, not because of the hotels lack of organisation. Eventually, the kids sorted, I then looked to find out where I sign up... that ship had well and truly sailed! Plus, where and how adult classes work... bearing in mind we sort ourselves last. Our rooms were clean and tidy, the public areas were the same, all of the staff were more than happy to help and best of all the food was fantastic with more than enough choice for everyone’s taste. To top it off the skiing was great too.
