While the hotel is located outside of the park, it is still very close to the entrance and overall convenient if you cannot find anything in the park (since most hotels operated at 1/2 capacity and we booked last minute following cancelled European vacations, the choices were limited). The Grand Hotel is the only AAA Three Diamond hotel near the Grand Canyon, just one mile from the South Rim entrance. Unfortunately the gym and the pool were closed, regarding the virus situation which was a bit sad since the pool looked so promising. We would definitely return if given the opportunity to again visit the area.The room was nice and clean, the staff at the lobby was friendly and very helpful. We had reservations and check in was smooth and quick. The check-in was fine and the hotel had taken great precautions with thick plexiglass between check-in attendants and travelers; we also received a keyless option by downloading an app through the phone which was convenient and limited the number of touches. Built in 1998, our luxurious hotel is just one mile from the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park, with scenic South Rim of the Canyon just a short car ride away. We didn't eat at the steakhouse but it was nice to have that option, as well as the saloon.
