Pure talent here. Eastwood's handling of Robert James Waller's book is flawless. During the first 20 minutes or so I was like, there is no way this romantic thing is going to work between Clint and Meryl.....boy was I WRONG! James wakes up in a barn tied up along with David and his daughter Kristen, the girl from the beginning. Will and Brooke are hiking and split up; once alone, Will sees Kyle's body floating in a nearby river and shortly after Damien appears and kills Will and chases after Jenna and Brooke. A lovely romance.

The group drives to Madison County, in order to meet David Randall, the author of a book based on a murderer named Damien Ewell. Now, more women are realizing their financial independence is important, and feeling trapped or smothered is no way to exist. Many may like this movie. Her husband, like many only wanted her to meet his agenda, and like so many women she caved in. I have never been so deeply involved in the emotion of a character in a movie before!
